Heimbach research organisation is centred in Europe. Under its’ auspices, and in close collaboration with renowned institutes, universities and partners from industry, new products are developed, intensively tested and continually improved.

 

Heimbach’s laboratories are well-equipped and utilise the following units equipment, among others:

Where paper machine clothing is concerned, paper marking and paper structure analyses are as much part of our range of services as the analysis of end-of-life fabric & felt samples. This provides us with the maximum opportunity for individual problem analysis and fault remedy.

 

In the area of filtration, in addition to the indispensible “classic” tests such as air permeability, tear resistance, tensile strength and microscopic evaluation of filter media and dust, we carry out the following special investigations: 


 

- particle size distribution

 

- scanning electron microscopic analysis

 

- semi-quantitative element analysis (EDX)

 

- filtration trials with filter media test rig according to VDI RL 3926

 

- analysis of polymer degradation using infra-red spectroscopy (IR) and dynamic differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)

 

- solid/liquid separation trials.

 

Being a member of the European Consortium of filtration technology and the work of the guideline committee of the VDI (Confederation of German Industry) ensure that Heimbach filter media meet future requirements as they are being formulated. Well-equipped laboratories and a pilot filtration unit for scale-up trials enable Heimbach to evaluate and optimise filtration processes with greatest precision.
